While currently working on a film project with Pakistani heartthrob Fawad Khan, Bollywood actress Vaani Kapoor recently spoke out in support of fellow artists Hania Aamir and Diljit Dosanjh. The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has warned him against using social media to share his opinion. They even went to the extent of threatening him that he would be banned for working in Bollywood. The announcement comes amid fresh hostilities between India and Pakistan.
The rumors started because fans spotted Hania in pictures and videos from the movie set. She was even spotted with Diljit during his UK musical tour. While it was never confirmed officially, fans believed she had a role in the film. Though it seemed like that, but when the teaser dropped finally from Hum TV on Sunday, there was no sign of Hania anywhere.
The reaction comes after Indian soldiers were targeted in a deadly attack at Pahalgam, Indian-Occupied Kashmir. In retaliation, India has made a strict ban on Pakistani artists. Even Indian media also reported that Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan are being considered for the roles. Now, though, all cross-border work is on hold.
The FWICE has now sent a formal letter to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). They also sought the rejection of certification for Sardaar Ji 3, if any Pakistani talent is found in the movie. They then reportedly told the board that it would be disregarding an order of the government and public sentiment in case they did let the film out.
India, on the other hand, has taken down Pakistani songs from Spotify, blocked Pakistani celebrities on social media and suspended YouTube channels aswell. These moves highlight the widening gap of cultural exchange between the countries. However, for now the fate of any entertainment collaboration between India and Pakistan is very much in limbo.

سوشل میڈیا پر بھی اس معاملے پر دلجیت دوسانجھ کیخلاف زبردست بائیکاٹ مہم چلائی گئی جو اب تک جاری ہے۔ تاہم جہاں ایک طرف دلجیت پر سخت تنقید کی گئی، وہیں مداحوں سمیت چند ساتھی فنکاروں نے ان کے حق میں آواز بھی بلند کی جن میں بالی ووڈ اداکارہ وانی کپور سرفہرست ہیں۔
ایک حالیہ انٹرویو میں اداکارہ وانی کپور نے دلجیت دوسانجھ کا دفاع کرتے ہوئے کہا ہے کہ انہوں نے کوئی قانون نہیں توڑا۔ انہوں نے این ڈی ٹی وی سے بات کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ یہ فلم ممکنہ طور پر اس واقعے سے پہلے مکمل کی گئی تھی، جس میں 100 سے زائد تکنیکی عملے نے بھی کام کیا۔
وانی نے مزید کہا کہ دلجیت کی نیت کبھی ملک کی بے احترامی کی نہیں اور وہ ایک عالمی شہرت یافتہ فنکار ہیں اور ان کی سرمایہ کاری اس فلم میں لگی ہوگی جس میں ممکنہ طور پر ان کا نقصان بھی ہوا ہوگا۔
یاد رہے کہ سردار جی 3 کی بھارت میں پابندی پہلگام واقعے اور بھارت کی ناکام فوجی کارروائی “آپریشن سندور” کے بعد لگی ہے، جس کی وجہ سے پاکستان کے ساتھ ثقافتی تبادلے پر سخت موقف اپنایا گیا ہے۔
کئی بھارتی فنکاروں نے دلجیت دوسانجھ کی مخالفت کی اور ان کی فلم کا بائیکاٹ کیا لیکن ناصیر الدین شاہ نے بھی ان کے حق میں کھڑے ہو کر معاملے کو بہتر طریقے سے سلجھانے کی بات کی۔
